Indianna Puzzle from Tammy of Moda Fabrics is this weeks block. Based on a 9-patch it has a star in the centre so it caught my attention. You know I love stars!
For the 9" block I used toweling in the D blocks. I placed the stripes on each side so they were perpendicular to the sides of the block. It adds a little directionality and movement.
The small 4 ½" block I chose to use the toweling in the centre E square. With the black print star points surrounding it, I like the way it blends in.
These blocks were made exactly as the cutting and assembly instructions stated, so no changes for this one.
With the 9" block I took the opportunity to use a larger scale print in the bigger pieces (A and B) and I think it paid off. You can really see the beauty of the big, blowsy floral in this block.
Happy Sewing
