Easy Living Block of the Month - No 5.

Our third side panel is the berry appliqué and the techniques are the same as Months 3 and 4.

If you are sewing needle turn appliqué then I recommend you use Perfect Circles to make all the berries in this block. I included a video for these in month 1, but here is the link again if you need it.

When you cut the stripe for the border, make sure you follow the instructions carefully. You will have cut one end off each border stripe, measuring 3" from the first white woven stripe. It is very important that the trimmed end of the border is sewn next to the appliqué . Make sure each border is cut exactly the same in all the blocks and the stripes will match when you mitre the corners.

The instructions for mitring corners is included in the General Instruction section of the first block. Here is a link to a video that will help you with this too. When pressing the crease for the mitred corners just lift and press the iron, don't move it back and forth, you will stretch the fabric. It is folded on the bias and you need to press very carefully.

We included a photo of my completed quilt in your pattern a couple of months ago. We have cut your kits according to the fabric placement in the actual quilt. The pattern covers are the original computer renderings I did when I designed the quilt. You can choose your appliqué fabrics or you can follow either of these pictures that we have provided.

I have included the photos below too.

Digital rendering of the Easy Living Block of the Month.

Actual quilt that we have provided fabrics for.

We are half way through our BOM program and I hope you are enjoying it so far.

Happy sewing

Jenelle
