Easy Living Appliqué Block of the Month

Updated: Jul 31, 2022

If you are new here and just discovering Pieces to Treasure, then welcome. I hope you stay and browse around a little while and find something to inspire your next project.

I design Moda toweling for Moda fabrics and I have a new range of fabric, called Easy Living due in stores May 2022. I can't wait! It's named Easy Living because I think the taupes, off whites and blue shades are soothing colours that are easy to live with.

With a new range of fabric comes a bevy of new patterns and one of my favourites this time is my new Block of the Month.

I have used a combination of Easy Living Towelings and a new range by Basic Grey called Decorum, and they coordinate perfectly.

This quilt contains appliqué and piecing and is available as a 10 month Block of the Month for $40 a month, which include p&h. This is a fun way to make a quilt and it's also lovely to receive a parcel each month with your pattern, fabric and instructions.

If you wish to sign up, click here.

The quilt measures 66" x 66" so it is perfect to top a queen size bed. You could always add an extra border if you wish to make it bigger.

The appliqué can be complete using needle turn or fused techniques, enough fabric will be included to cover both.

The Easy Living toweling is perfect for appliqué backgrounds. If you browse around my website you will discover a plethora of patterns for the appliqué and stitchery enthusiasts that feature Moda toweling.

The striking centre of the quilt is made with pieced toweling in the background and then apppliqued.

I used a 60" wide buffalo check from the Easy Living range to back the quilt. This is so soft and I pieced a blue grunge through the backing to match the binding. The backing is an optional extra for the BOM but the binding is included.

The photo bomber here is Saffy. She will turn 16 y.o. at Easter time and still runs around like a puppy, playing with her teddies every evening. We just wear out a little quicker than we used to - but then, so do I.

The Block of the Month is scheduled to start in May, but there are strange things happening with shipping at present, so we will notify you if the fabric does not arrive in time.

Thanks for stopping by and reading along,

Happy Sewing,

Jenelle
